Upsilamba? What?

“The truth was the upsilamba was one of Nabokov’s fascinating creations, possibly a word he invented. I said I associate Upsilamba with the impossible joy of a suspended leap.”

– Azar Nafisi, Reading Lolita in Tehran

There you have it. Upsilamba is a word penned by Vladimir Nabokov, author of Lolita. The word resonates with happiness and excitement. To me, writing gives joy. To listen to the mellifluous voice of the words penned gives me utmost satisfaction. And here, you shall find things I am excited to write about — my favourite things — a short story, review of a movie I loved or a book I read, scribblings on cricket among others. I hope my writings give you something to cherish about.

Happy reading! Upsilamba!
